Ricardo is a Venezuelan-Canadian filmmaker and visual effects artist with over 15 years of experience working at leading studios including Industrial Light & Magic, Digital Domain, and Apple. His VFX credits include major feature films such as X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014), Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017), and Aquaman (2018). He has also served as a VFX supervisor on projects for talent such as NBC and Disney actress Sarah Jeffery, as well as commercial campaigns for clients including Paramount Pictures.

Also a dedicated filmmaker, Ricardo’s recent short film The Seahorse Trainer has won over 11 awards at international festivals, including the New Jersey International Film Festival, FilmQuest, VIFF, and the Seattle International Film Festival. Its recognition at SIFF qualified the project for Academy Awards consideration in 2020. More recently, Ricardo has directed music videos for The Voice UK finalist Lauren Bannon, including one that received a Gold Telly Award in 2024 for Best Music Video.

Ricardo recently spent nearly five years as a VFX and filmmaking expert on Apple’s Pro Workflow team, where he contributed to the creative development of high-end productions and advocated for hardware and software improvements across the Apple ecosystem. In this role, he led explorations in technical areas such as photogrammetry, LiDAR, and virtual production, collaborating with high-profile partners including Adobe, The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, and renowned artist Tom Sachs.
